It takes time to regain our joy once a loved one has died. But for this family, when their grandmother, wife and mother passed away, she left them a secret gift that made them to smile forever.
Emily Phillips died at the age of 69 a month after it was established she had pancreatic cancer. It was after she had died that her family members discovered she had prepared her obituary in advance. After the release of the obituary, it has gone viral and gained national recognition.
According to her daughter, Bonnie Upright, the binder her mother had come up with was titled “Emily’s Death Notebook.” Within the binder, she had shared with them several hilarious moments which left them smiling. It also provided the best platform which the family could use to share with the entire world their incredible loved one’s story.
She covered everything from her childhood to when she was an adult by using the language which suited every occasion she covered. She covered everything in a heart-melting, charming and endearing way.
Mothers are blessings to our families since they normally depict the meaning of unconditional love. It’s Emily family who can describe this better when they can afford a smile even when their loved one has left them.
